Adictos al buceo en Taganga

To rest from the Carnival, we went to Taganga, a small beach village near Santa Marta. We got the opportunity to travel with Gui, a Brazilian friend from Barranquilla, who was working as a volunteer here in Colombia. Gui reminded us Martim, we know you are irreplaceable Marim! but was nice to be 3 again and Gui has something similar to Martim, goodlooking big guy that is seek from every girls´ eyes.

In Taganga we ended up staying around 10 days. Taganga has something special in its environment and everybody end up staying longer than expected. It does not have a beautiful beach, although the signs around it and the water are really nice, nor a crazy night but it is relaxing and everybody is very very friendly. This town is also known by the amount of artisans that stop by, a lot of people selling their products, a lot of live music in the streets, and fish everyday!

The sunset here is amazing because it is on the ocean (Caribe), which is not often in the north of Colombia.

Here, a group of Argentineans from Mendoza playing Cumbia. This was after the sunset.

We stayed the first two days and then went for 3 nights to Tayrona park, an amazing natural reserve where you have the jungle close to the beach.

After walkingof 4 hours (which we did with a Swiss friend from the Carnival and an Argentinean) to Playa Brava, the owner of the only restaurant on this beach told us "the kitchen will open in 4h". So.. we though and got a solution, lets break some coconuts and drink its water and eat the inside eheheh

After Tayrona, we went back to Taganga and here we decided to do the Open Water Diving course. We enjoyed so much that we ended up doing the Advanced, which let us do scuba diving everywhere in the world with a depth of 30m and also during the night. The environment was really nice, the instructor Choper, the school and other instructors  were nice. ahh we forgot to say that it was like coming back to university. To do the course we had to do a final exam, which required a read of a book of 250 pages. We passed but we were quite nervous about it ahahahah

On the weekend, between the two courses we went fishing with Oscar, a local fisherman (and friend, he was the boat driver during our first dive). We woke up at 5.30am to be in the water at 6am. We fished some Tuna, Bonifasio and sardines. Was a really nice experience! the biggest fish fished by Murta was then ate in two meals, one grilled and the other boiled. We ate it (lunch a la costeña) in Oscar´s house and there we learned how to prepare it and how to cook coconut rice and patacones (banana griled in a speacial way). We are definitely not going to forget our best fish meal so far in this trip.
